This past weekend, B and I got to take a short weekend trip up to Nashville to spend time with my dad and, unfortunately, watch the Titans beat up on my Packers. Regardless of the latter, it was still a lot of fun.
A few of my favorite trip highlights:
// Roof-top Bloody Mary’s at the George Jones Museum bar.
// Walking up and down Broadway, and finding the cutest little baby cowboy boots (which I had to seriously back myself away from) and record shopping at Ernest Tubbs record store.
// Making sure we hit up the liquor store in enough time to make sure we had the necessities for game day Bloody’s.
// Having dinner at a place super close to our hotel called Darfons – which had the most delicious rare steak I’d had in a while, a German waitress and the most garlicky bread dip ever. So good.
// Running to Walgreens super early in the morning for a few things we forgot and deciding that a bag of M&M’s and Kit-Kats were also necessities.
// Drinking our Bloody’s from red solo cups walking to the stadium (which I have to give mad props to Nashville and how they have their stadium and parking organized. Zero crazy traffic and mostly everything around the stadium is pedestrian. I mean, GENIUS).
// Spending my dad’s birthday with him for the first time in a really long time.
// Standing in line for almost an hour waiting on brewksies before heading into the stadium.
// Carla’s balloon cheese-head hat.
// The amazingly bad ass Salute to Service helicopter flyover.
// And even though the Packers lost, how amazingly awesome the people of Nashville were. I am definitely up for another trip back !!
