I have wanted to mess with our one and only bathroom for a really long time. When we thought we were moving to Austin, we repainted it an off white color — you know, nice neutrals to try to get the house sold.
Not that I was completely crazy about the blue color we had in there to begin with. The paint sales guy told us we needed glossy paint in the bathroom — I never found out if that was a true statement or not (where my home decorators at?!), but it looked awful. I’m just not a fan of glossy paint anywhere in my house. I much prefer the flat look.
B was going to be gone for an entire weekend, and I thought, well here is my chance to do what I want with the bathroom sans judgment until it’s completed. So I finally got to put my plan into motion. I wanted something that looked elegant and different. I really wanted a chandelier in the bathroom, but that got shot down super fast.
Probably wouldn’t have worked anyway with our crazy house’s electrical system, but a girl can dream right?
What I had in mind was a deep blue, a crisp white with a hint of burlap. And here is how it turned out:
I am in love with it. And what’s even better is that B is too. Plus I got to incorporate Texas stars into it, and I just love Texas stars! So tell me…what do you think of our updated bathroom?
Next project I get to tackle is ripping out the carpet to our basement stairs, and staining and painting and stenciling. I can’t wait! Nesting at it’s finest, y’all.
