Dance Baby Dance!

October 1, 2010 · Leave a Comment

So while lost in my 20’s, still not knowing who I am, I decided to sign up for dance classes.

Have. I. Lost. My. Mind?

I have rhythm. I can dance. But this isn’t booty shaking to Usher or whatever song Ke$ha has out….this is actual ballroom dance.

Hubby won’t go with me, so I’m alone on this one. I got my first lesson next Tuesday at 6pm. With a boy dance teacher. What if I’m a klutz? He says to wear heels. Heels? To dance? On a wooden floor.

Oh Lord.

I am going to make an ass out of myself.

Hello, Texas!

September 23, 2010 · Leave a Comment

My husband travels often for his job; he does auditing for a bank. A few weeks back, he went to Austin for an audit…and when he gets back, apparently has made the decision that we’re moving HERE:

So I’m a very open-minded individual…I have nothing against Texas, so I started doing some research on this city that we’re apparently moving to, and this is what I found:

1. Gorgeous skyline:

2. Great football…

3. Great bars….

4. And Texas cowboys…..

Ummmm….count me in!!

WDE!!

Yesterday, Bennett and I went to the Auburn/Clemson game. And it was one of the most amazing games I’ve ever witnessed. Everytime I go back to Auburn, I get a certain sense of nostalgia…even while walking through the campus with all the new construction and everything…

Here you can get an outsider’s look on what makes AU so amazing:

ESPN Crew Heaps Praise On Auburn Experience

Love them or hate them, the ESPN GameDay crew has had nothing but good to say about its time in Auburn. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit rolled into town Thursday and say they always look forward to the trip to Auburn.
Speaking to WTVM television in Columbus on Friday, Fowler says the Auburn experience is unique. “It’s hard to put a finger on it, but there’s this close bond here between generations, between alums who come back to the school; there really is a kind of family feel, there’s a real passion for the Tigers,” said Fowler.
“I think there’s something special in the connection that people feel for this school and how it’s maintained years after they leave.”
Herbstreit agreed.
“You can feel the tradition; you can feel it whether we came here 10 or 20 years ago, as soon as you step on the campus it exudes tradition,” added Herbstreit.
“We went to a restaurant last night that’s just quaint, it’s just a nice college town people are very friendly I could see how it you live in the south you would want your son or daughter to come to this school.”

People for some reason are always going to hate on Auburn..and it makes me sad. I wish people would realize I feel the same way about this place that they do about their own school. And even though yesteday wasn’t a great showing for AU football (or my lover Cam), I still love them.

Love of My Life

September 13, 2010 · Leave a Comment

I know you may be expecting a picture of my husband here…but no. Here is my new love….

His name is Cam Newton. He is Auburn’s quarterback. And I am so in love! Look at that smug little smile…all dressed up in this season’s oh-so-fashionable black and white. All 6’5″ goodness. It sure doesn’t hurt that he is the quarterback of my alma mater, but wow. So glad I get to stare at that for the next 2 years!

In December, hubby and I are going to PA to see my mom. We are dedicating one day to seeing New York City….and this is why I can’t wait.
