Good Lord, I really did have plans on posting more than once last week (at this point in time, I can’t remember if I even did – did I?), but the week got away from me. I’m a huge believer that full moons make the world go nuts, especially the week leading up to it, and of course, it did not disappoint.
Last Wednesday was world kindness day. Sheff looked so cute in his little pink Be Kind shirt -I am definitely that mom getting all the pictures by the front door before he heads off to school. I am also very aware that the shirt is gigantic on him – but he should get another use out of it next year. I hope anyway.
Also on Wednesday, my sister and I went to a “Plant & Pour” event that was hosted by Botanica at a place called The Hive downtown. Basically, we got three plants and a pot, and decorated the pots. It was really a lot of fun -my sister and I got an adult beverage and shared some fried pickles. And came home with new plants that I’ll surely kill.
I am still coming into the office about twice a week – on Mondays and Thursdays. My last Thursday was awful – not that the rest of the week was rainbows and sunshine – but for some reason, I was just swamped. So after work, I walked across the street to Chocolata – I had seen some CBD chocolates on their Instagram, and I definitely wanted to try them out. And aren’t they so pretty? They are pretty damn delicious, too.
Saturday, I got up and did a 45 minute bike boot camp on the Peloton app – it seriously killed me. It was the hardest work out I’ve done in a long time. I needed to reward myself with something delicious – so Sheff and I went to Bojangles for biscuits and Bo-berry biscuits for the kid. It’d been awhile since we’d gotten biscuits for a weekend breakfast, but I definitely want to start doing it more. It’s such a good way to start a weekend. Plus his little bed head hair kills me – just the cutest.
Later that morning – I had set up a lunch date with a friend at a winery in Calera. They had a fun deal that came with a flight of five wines, a cheese plate and a lunch. We ended up ordering two bottles of wine to share, and went home with a few for the hubs to try. We were only there for a few hours – and the weather was gorgeous – albeit, a little humid.
When I got home, we all got into our very classy inflatable hot tub and played around outside until dinner time. We had a pasta dinner and watched a movie instead of eating at the dinner table. Bennett and I had music night and stayed up way, way, way too late.
Sunday was pretty much be productive day – got all the dishes done and put away – every single article of clothing, bedding and all the towels were washed. I purged three bags of clothes and shoes from my closet (3!!!) and found a Joshilyn Jackson book, that I haven’t read, in a little free library on our walk. We ended the night with brisket tacos, and I got really into When We Believed in Mermaids – hoping to finish it tonight! Hope you all had a great weekend!
Sounds like you had a fun weekend to make up for that rough week! I need to try the chocolate you got! Did it have any chill effects? I need to chill. LOL. I love Joshilyn Jackson! So awesome you found it in a free library.
Damn, now I want Bojangles 🙂
Bojangles is life.
