Last week I got to meet up with a couple of girls that I used to work with at my previous job. We had been so close while we were there, and somehow drifted apart. We have all been through a lot without each other, including the death of a spouse. To say it was an unbelievable burst of emotion to see them again would be an understatement. It was definitely hard to keep the tears in.
We went to John’s City Diner, because it was close to where we all were, and because they have an amazing happy hour! I also got to meet up with Ralph, a fellow Magic City Blogger, and it was awesome to get to actually have a conversation with him.
As the night went on, we talked about the good ole days and what has happened since in our lives, and it has been so much for all of us. But the most awesome thing about the whole reunion? It was like we hadn’t skipped a beat. I say a lot that people leave your life for a reason, but people also re-enter it for a reason. Maybe I needed these girls right then and there; maybe they needed me. Who knows, but it was absolutely incredible getting to see them.

of course, we had to get a picture in front of it.

bacon. yes, that’s bacon. and it was delicious.
Two things I learned from that night:
1. Bacon is good in absolutely any form.
2. Good friends can pick you up in the middle of anything and act as though no time has passed.
