I took over 100 pictures of our time in Kansas City for Thanksgiving, but way more than 100 memories were made.
We took the 11 hour trek to KC to spend turkey day with my dad, step-mom, step-bro and his wife and twins. There was so much fun, food, family, and of course, beverages. A few of my favorite moments included:
// Carrying on our T-day tradition of doughnuts and watching the parade with the kids.
// Having absolutely gorgeous weather, and getting to play outside.
// Turkey hats!
// Playing in Poppa’s cars (and getting the twins to start calling my dad Poppa, too!)
// Late night music and beverages and bonding.
// Going through super old pictures with dad.
// Digging for dinosaur bones at the dinosaur exhibit, and the kids getting to ride in a North Pole train.
// Lounging around the house in comfy clothes, playing left, right center and poker.
// Blowing off our date night in favor of drinks and talking.
// Watching the cousins play together ( I wish we all lived closer together!)
// Dad finally figuring out how to work the camera on the tripod so we could get a good family photo.
I’m so glad we got to have one more final Thanksgiving in Kansas – it definitely reminded me of all the things I have to be thankful for. I hope you all had a great holiday as well, as stuffed yourself with as much mashed potatoes as you could fit in your stomach – I know I did.
