How far along?: 15 weeks — baby is the size of a navel orange, and its legs finally are longer than its arms.
Weight gain: I was pretty close last week in saying 5 pounds — it was 6 total. Doctor said he is very happy with the amount of weight gain. So I’m going to believe him.
I’m feeling: A little bit more energetic – I even got a new hair do – hence the bangs in that picture. I wanted to chop it all off, but my hair stylist suggest strongly against it, seeing as how my face will get fat, and I’ll look terrible. She opted for some bangs instead. The itchiness is still there, and it usually hits me pretty bad right before bed, or when I wake up in the middle of the night. Also do you see that BUMP up there? It feels like it just appeared over night.
Maternity clothes?: Still loving those yoga pants my mom bought me. Those six pounds have definitely thrown me out of some of my clothes, but can mostly still fit into my dresses and tops.
Sleep?: I’m definitely getting more than I used to. I’m usually only waking up once a night, and I’m able to fall right back asleep. Hallelujah.
Miss anything?: I miss being able to work out hard. I’ve been doing one of Suzanne Bowen’s prenatal barre workouts, and while I feel it, it just doesn’t get my heart rate revving like a good run.
Food cravings?: 3 words . Root. Beer. Floats.
We had our 15 week appointment this morning. Baby’s heartbeat is still strong at 157 bpm, and the tech found it really fast!! We also have our “big” ultrasound scheduled — we’ll be able to get a DVD of the baby moving and we’ll finally know the sex! B and I have agreed that we will have it written down and put into an envelope and then we will find out privately together at a nice dinner. I can’t wait to find out !
