How far along: 25 weeks, and I finally start to look like I’m pregnant. It just happened overnight, I swear. Although, at nighttime is when he’s really sticking out there. He is the size of a rutabaga (whatever that is), and finally has a hair color!! And although we won’t know 100% until he’s born what his hair color is, B and I are 99.99% sure he’ll have dark hair.
Weight gain: I’d say anywhere between about 15 and 20 now.
I’m feeling: Tired. I feel like my second trimester energy is all gone and while I’m about 3 weeks away from the third trimester, I’m pretty exhausted. Speaking of three weeks away from the third trimester, this marks 15 weeks until Baby Sheffield is with us.
Maternity clothes: Yep. I keep finding super cute clothes on PinkBlush and Old Navy. I’m mostly keeping to dresses, as it’s already 80 degrees down here. And sandals, because my feet have started to swell as well.
Movement: His movements are sporadic — but he’s normally kicking pretty hard in the morning and right before bed. I even got super lucky and got a rib jab over the weekend.
Miss anything: Energy. Even the workouts I’ve been doing the whole pregnancy have gotten harder. I’m sure that has something to do with the extra 15 pounds I’m carrying out. I’ve also been waking up in the middle of the night trying to catch my breath. I’m usually a back sleeper, and apparently that is no bueno with baby. One of the biggest challenges is trying to get comfortable lying on my side all night. I’ve taken to a giant stuffed frog that makes an excellent sleeping while pregnant partner.
Food cravings: Nothing too bizarre — maybe a cheeseburger here and there.
How’s Dad? Exhausted, but that’s because he’s put in a lot of hours trying to get the basement ready. He also got to feel a really hard kick this past weekend. I think we’re both just ready to get this basement down, move all of our guest room furniture down there and finally get started on that nursery. The crib is here, so we can’t wait to put that together and finally see that room start to come together!
